The Shed Attended the National BBQ Association Convention held this year in Memphis.
Not only did we all enjoy the comradery of the best of the best BBQ people in the world, but the educational classes were top notch.
We came away with notepads full of fresh new ideas and a wealth of knowledge.
Prior to the convention we submitted 19 BBQ sauces, marinades, and dry rubs for the Awards of Excellence contest.
On Thursday evening at the President's Reception the winners were announced.

The Shed's Pulled Pork Sandwich wins the Ultimate Hometown Grill Off Recipe
On Live! Regis and Kelly !!!
In June The Shed began a nerve racking journey into the National spotlight. The Shed was nominated for there pulled pork sandwich to vie for the Ultimate Hometown Grill Off Recipe on Live! Regis and Kelly Show. Five contestants were chosen in the pulled pork category. We submitted a one minute video asking everyone to vote for The Shed so we could make our sandwich on the show and go into the semi finals. Well, thanks to all of you, we got the opportunity to do just that. In July Brad, Brooke and Brett flew to New York and made the slow smoked pork shoulder, the dry rub and our Shed Spred bbq sauce. The video went to their website and for the following 5 weeks other contestants in 10 other categories did the same. Last week another national voting took place to choose the top two finalist. The Shed was again chosen. Well, away they flew, back to New York this time hoping to come home with the trophy and a full spread in the March issue of Better Homes and Gardens. They did not disappoint the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the thousands that voted for them. With a panel of four judges,a live audience, an iron chef type competition and a national television audience watching them.....The Shed was pronounced the winner of the Ultimate Hometown Grill Off Recipe!!! How about that!
