About the event

Rob Mortimer is a Singer-Songwriter, BMI Recording Artist, and Undertaker from the Mississippi Delta. Rob was born and raised in the Delta. His first instrument was his voice, singing Little Richard and Elvis tunes all throughout the house and a kid. He begged his parents for a guitar, starting around 10 years old. At 13, his Aunt Odell bought him his first guitar. After football, soccer, and baseball practice he went strait to his room to teach himself to play guitar. As a late teen, Rob developed working relationships with local blues artist; who would let him on stage to play guitar and sing with them. He began writing songs early on, because he couldn't play guitar well enough to cover other peoples songs.

After a short run at college soccer, Rob started a band; began touring half way across the country; then, put out his first album "Peep" shortly after. He made an appearance on American Idol in 2006 and 2009. Rob has shared the stage with the North Mississippi All-Stars, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Govt Mule, Maren Morris, Edwin McCain, Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Branford Marsalis, Steve Azar, Aaron Lewis, Bill Murray, B.B. King, Keb Mo', Gary Clark Jr., the Greyhounds (Austin, TX), Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Darius Rucker, JJ Grey, Old Crow Medicine Show, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, and still making friends.

Rob's music is mostly Blues influenced, with pieces of Americana, Funk, and Soul. "Some folks call it Delta Soul"- Steve Azar. His band has been described as "the Beatles with James Brown as the frontman", "if Ike Turner assembled Modest Mouse", or "I don't know what is going on or what this is, but I like it".

You can find Rob Mortimer & GoodPaper's music on all major streaming services; as well as, XMSIRIUS's Bluesville, Jam On, and North Americana.
